Course Description

This option is about exploring ancient civilizations on earth and how these civilizations have influenced aspects of modern society, such as religion, law and politics, art and architecture, engineering and technology. You will have the opportunity to study the history and culture of an ancient civilization of your choice.

In this course, you will:

  • Describe the customs and ways of life of ancient civilisations.
  • Analyse documents, artifacts, and stories to piece together an understanding of studied civilisations.
  • Explain the effects of major events and key people from ancient history on the world today.
  • Develop critical thinking skills by examining historical evidence and forming reasoned conclusions.
  • Carry out an investigation on a research topic of our choosing.
