Year 10 Money Matters

This Year 10MMS course builds on the knowledge and skills taught in Year 9MMS. Students will gain a good understanding of the nature of the society we live in. Think of it as economics (the study of how we use resources), financial literacy and consumer law all rolled into one.

• Economic Concepts Introduction – needs and wants, factors of production, data gathering and graphs
• Money - Income – Types of income and where they come from and foreign exchange skills
• Budgeting – What a budget is and how to prepare and interpret it
• Business Enterprise - Work in a group to create your own business, starting with an idea, business plan, market research, 
• Values – Principles that govern our conduct
• Consumer Law and Organisations – How and why individuals and groups seek to safeguard the rights of consumers
