Auditions will take place at the start of Term 4. They will be closed and viewed only by a selected panel of current senior students and teaching staff.

For the audition, you are required to prepare a dance in your chosen style. You may choreograph the dance yourself or collaborate with someone to help develop it (e.g., friends or family). The dance should be 2-3 minutes long. You may also choose to choreograph and perform the dance with another person who is considering this course.

The purpose of the audition is to assess your ability to create a dance for a specific purpose, as this is a requirement for one of the course assessments.

This course builds on the skills developed at Level 2 but with a focus on developing dance and music leadership for a dance group. As a class, you will be learning how to develop choreography for a group, create and organise music and songs for your performances, and make decisions about your overall performance. Level 3 PPA students will take the lead in some lessons, so you must be prepared to work collaboratively with others to lead effectively. You will be expected to participate in Poly Club and perform at school events and local festivals You need to come with a willingness to work collaboratively and to contribute to class dance activities. Your attendance this year to school will be considered as part of your application for this course, as attendance is necessary to succeed in PPA.

Level 3 students will also perform a solo or duet as part of their assessments. Attendance from this year will be checked, and you will need to audition to assess your performance level, commitment, and choreographic skills. Auditions will take place at the start of Term 4. They will be closed and only seen by a selected panel of current senior students and teaching staff.
